Visitors from China at the FH Technikum in Vienna
The FH Technikum in Vienna started as Cisco Networking Academy in 2004 and offers IT Adiministration and Networking Technology courses within the scope of their study focuses.
In a time when life becomes more connected every day the importance of Networking Technology goes far beyond the known study focuses as for example Computer Science, Information- and Communication Systems or Business Informatics. At the FH you can dive into following topics as a study focus or research area, where network technology and network security start to play a continuously growing role:
- Urban Renewable Energy Technologies
- Embedded Systems
- Intelligent Transport Systems
- eHealth
To win more students to go abroad for an exchange semester is really important for FH-Prof. Mag. Martin Kimmel, Director of the Center for International Relations at the FH. Cooperation and collaboration with educational organizations from around the world is a basis for this.
Within a study visit program of Wuxi Technician College, Jiangsu Province, China to the FH we had the chance to arrange a meeting with the Chinese Program Manager of the Cisco Networking Academy Jiang Hang and three instructors from local Networking Academies in Bejing.
How? The Cisco Office Vienna has a so-called Holodeck – yes, it is almost as if you can beam yourself to China: you really sit on a table together, on the one side sits Vienna and on the other side sits Bejing.

On the last day of the visit the Career Fair took place at the University.
