The Bayrampasa District in Istanbul is the home of a very active Cisco Networking Academy that plans to exchange best teaching practice with partners in Europe. Led by Mr. Hasan GOEZEN, Major of the Bayrampasa District a delegation of education experts and representatives of IT companies and IT associations visited the Hein-Moeller-School in Berlin on 10th April 2014.
The objective of the visit was to identify e-Skills topics that education institutions share in Berlin and Istanbul. The teacher colleagues from the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Technical and Vocational Highschool and Hein-Moeller-School identified collaboration areas for student exchange.
They will use the Cisco Networking Academy platform Netspace. Student groups from both cities will learn together by using internet integrated simulation tools. As an idea for further development the schools plan to use the Smart Grid pilot material, that will be made available soon in German language.
The group of education experts also discussed strategies how to make technical and IT skills more attractive for young people and will continue with local initiatives under the umbrella of the e-Skills Week for Digital Jobs campaign #eskills .
