Together with Luca Lepore, Program Manager Networking Academy Italy, we visited the SSIG in Bellinzona , in personal Roberto, the LMC – academy contact and CCNA instructor and Adriano, responsible for Continued Education.
I enjoyed meeting the 3rd largest and only Networking Academy in Ticino, the Italian part of Switzerland, using the change to actively work in cross-country collaboration.
Discussed topics:
Move to the new learning platform NetSpace, the new coming CCNA 5.0 curriculum and how the existing courses can be mapped into it, decreasing student numbers.
Strategic possibilities opening up with the new CCNA curriculum:
The new coming CCNA curricula is open and flexible for being used in a modular way, making it possible to use only modules instead of the entire curriculum.
- Vocational Schools do have comprehensive IT curricula where not much time is dedicated to Networking and Systems
- The new CCNA 5.0 allows Vocational Schools to use only the modules they need and have time for
- They can become part of the Networking Academy
AND they are the supply chain for new students into Higher Education – 90% of the students at the SSIG come from Vocational Schools.
This idea was welcomed with interest. Looking forward to this strategic cooperation idea along the education value chain will be adopted.
